Your company should have a clear mission, whether it’s bringing affordable services to the elderly or cutting-edge games to a younger crowd. But that mission has to be more than an ad slogan or a motivational poster. You have to live it every day before your employees will believe in it. Otherwise, it’s just lip service, and staff will tend to lose sight of what the company goals are. Clearly and consistently express what your mission is and how it relates to current events and future plans. Employees who come to share your vision will be more engaged and more motivated.

2. Develop a Business Model

You should develop a business strategy that is focused on executing your mission and achieving your goals. Make sure that employees at all levels understand how what they do is essential to the overall process. Workers need to feel that their contributions are meaningful before they can take their roles seriously. They also need to have some self-direction through consistent policies and procedures. Employees that don’t know what to expect or what’s required won’t feel comfortable in their jobs. A reliable and transparent business model is important to a feeling of security and self-worth.

3. Open Communication

Successful business leaders not only make great plans but communicate them. Employees are more satisfied if they know what’s happening within the larger company, especially at executive levels. If you’ve landed a big new client or raised output by 10 percent last quarter, employees need to know because it’s something they can and should take pride in. Even when you’re facing challenges, let employees know about possible consequences down the line. Invite feedback and suggestions.
